"I was lucky to have games like Slay the Spire to look at as a model. I wasn't going to go lift massive chunks out of them just for the sake of copying them, but they certainly do a lot of things right and solve certain problems so I was able to look at certain core things. Projecting what your opponent is going to do ahead of time to allow you to plan is done quite differently in Slay the Spire, but it's the same idea, and so I think I was able to stand on their shoulders for a lot of those things."
